Praying in Color: Using Art, Spirit & Rest as Our Tools

Most of us have either sat or walked while praying or meditating. Sometimes we are driving or in the shower or doing yard work while sending out our hopes and desires. How many of us have prayed in color, meditated with paint or called out for guidance in the form of a poem, a painting, a scribble or with a pile of sand? Give yourself a full weekend away to delve into the realms of creative prayer and meditation using unique, hands-on, process-oriented artistic activities that will open you to different ways to pray and meditate – in
color! These multi-media experiences are never a lecture and are always hands-on, introspective and fun. Art Wanders creative retreats invite your spirit to roam. No art experience is required for this guided and exploratory retreat! Amazing creations, relaxation, and smiles are guaranteed during this soul-stirring weekend. All art materials will be provided.

Retreat Facilitator: Claudia Fulshaw lives in Durham, NC, is a graphic designer, member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ, an artist and a long time wanderer. She has been leading retreats and workshops for over 20 years and is passionate about designing retreats that connect people in unique ways to their spirits as well as Spirit/God/Higher Power, while creating art. Her infectious “art spirit” fuels her desire to share how there is freedom in spontaneity and joy in discovery while immersed in art-making. Claudia reminds us of how the arts offer us insights into ourselves and can influence and enhance our spiritual lives. Her fun-loving personality fosters a warm, natural and personal connection that will leave you energized and fed.
